Mrs. Haley’s Sweet & Sour Meatballs

1-2 lbs ground beef*
1 c. crushed saltines (or more for desired consistency)
1/2 c. milk
salt & pepper to taste
3/4 c. vinegar
9 T. sugar
1 1/2 c. ketchup
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped green pepper
4 1/2 T. worcestershire sauce

Mix ingredients for meatballs. Roll into small balls and place 9 x 13 glass baking dish. Pour sauce over meatballs. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Serve over rice or as an appetizer.

* 1 lb beef should make 20 -25 meatballs.

I haven’t made these meatballs in quite a long time, since we’ve stopped eating as much meat. But they are absolutely delicious! Also have not tried them with turkey but I’m sure you could. These are from my sister-in-law’s mom.
